A Good Life is Within Our Control2025-03-17

Not life, but good life, is to be chiefly valued.

Socrates

Work on yourself, on your craft, help others, then relax and regenerate with family and friends. That is a good day. String such days up like ornaments on a necklace. That is a good life.

If you want to have a successful life, and satisfied one in the long term, the only place where Fun comes before Work is the dictionary. But they can co-occur if you do your Ikigai (Japanese term for “reason for being”). (For example, I strive to diagnose and treat patients, or do discovery-type science, like Harry Bosch puts together a detective case. Or help build medical-type products, from first principles, like assembling a Lego game. Or put together and lead teams like John Wooden- or Alex Ferguson, on rougher days). The fun is in striving with (your) purpose in mind.

On your life journey, it is useful to assess yourself biologically, sociologically, psychologically- so you can adjust and correct course if need be. We have developed tools to improve your mental health, keep track of your life satisfaction (happiness, hope, meaning), and enhance your active longevity. From biological health (the MindX One Blood Testing) to sociological health (the Life x Improve Digital Testing), to daily psychological health (Life x Mind App) — which includes a Good Life Score. These tools provide actionable intelligence.
