Prehab2025-12-09
“The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining.”
—John F. Kennedy
In life, the optimal time to shore things up is before challenges, traumas and dramas occur. We have developed a simple checklist (Life x Improve) that identifies areas that need improvement and provides a personalized plan.
The scientific genesis of this checklist is in suicide prevention. We have since made it into a positive tool to pre-habilitate (“prehab”), which is a way of saying you improve your ability to withstand stressors. As opposed to having your life thrown into disarray by them (or worse), and having to rehabilitate (“rehab”).
Stress is a learned response to an adverse environment. Triggered when those circumstances occur again. It can be a negative stress and lead to active aging if you think your perseverance, resources and abilities are lesser than the challenge at hand, and you avoid addressing things head on. Conversely, it can be a positive stress and lead to active longevity if you think your perseverance, resources and abilities are greater than the challenge at hand, and you address things head on.
Life x Improve can help. It is now easily available, and we hope people of all ages, but in particular young people, will use it.
