The Opposite of Suicidality2025-12-29

There must be something like the opposite of suicide, whereby a person radically and abruptly decides to start living, or rescue their own life from destruction/obscurity.

Ryan McCarty

Suicide is the abrupt and voluntary ending of one’s life, perceived as being bad and not worth living.

The opposite of it is the perception that life is good, and the long-term building of a life worth living. We call that active longevity.

Daily gratitude, making progress, contributing to meaningful things lead to life satisfaction and the perception that life is good.

The long-term building starts with avoiding dangerous activities, continues with a focus on improving physical and mental health, then wealth and influence, and has as a reason for living progeny, extended kin, and/or a mission to help others and the greater good.

Promoting active longevity, the opposite of suicidality, as a therapeutic approach by clinicians, and as an educational and social program by governments, will transform society for the better, while immunizing people to the siren songs of suicidality, violence and addictions.

We have built tools that are helpful with that: https://mindxsciences.com/.
