Transplants and Longevity2026-03-23
“The brain isn't like the heart. They learned how to transplant a heart. The brain is more complex”
—Adam Ant
There are many ways to look at longevity, but one simple way is that we are like a car, and at some point, to keep going, we will need parts replaced.
The reason parts need replacement is normal or accelerated wear-and-tear, due to (over) use, or diseases, or chemical toxins.
In the future people may grow their own replacement parts from stem cells.
However, current practice is to get those spare parts from donors. They are limited in number, and maximizing the likelihood that a transplant succeeds, and lasts, is important.
That is why the “dark matter” of mental health and addictions needs to be thoroughly and if possibly objectively assessed, to mitigate it interfering, flaring up, and dragging down medical outcomes. Our MindX One Liquid Biopsy can help with that (https://mindxsciences.com/bloodtests/ ). There is not health without mental health.
Live. Happier. Longer.
