Alexander B. Niculescu, MD, PhD

Founder / Chairman / CEO

Dr. Niculescu is a psychiatrist and geneticist who over the last two decades has pioneered the field of precision psychiatry in general, and the development of blood tests for psychiatric disorders in particular. His graduate work at Scripps was in cancer molecular genetics, and he has brought that approach to psychiatry, after a neurobiology postdoc with Nobel Prize winner Gerald Edelman and subsequent clinical training in psychiatry at UCSD. Dr. Niculescu has won, among other accolades, the Theodore Reich Award from the International Society for Psychiatric Genetics, and the NIH Director New Innovator Award for his work on blood biomarkers. After getting an Executive MBA at the IU Kelly School of Business, he founded MindX Sciences to help transform mental health. Dr. Niculescu has dedicated his career to the improved understanding, treatment and prevention of mental health issues, and has personally treated over 10,000 patients. After 20 years as a professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine, in he founded in 2024 the Center of Precise Personalized and Preventive Psychiatry (C4P) at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine-Phoenix.
